Welcome to Mont Tremblant

Mont-Tremblant Ski Club: a long tradition of excellence

Our history is intimately linked to the history of skiing in Canada and we want to continue this tradition by participating in the future history of alpine ski racing in Canada.

1932: Opening of Mont Tremblant Lodge by Joe and Mary Ryan and holding of international competitions on the Taschereau and Kandahar slopes, the oldest alpine ski races in North America.

1935: A group of skiers from the St Jovite Ski Club migrates and creates the Mont-Tremblant Ski Club.

1940s, 50s and 60s: A few skiers stood out on the international scene, often supported by individuals or by the Mont Tremblant ski school. In the early years: Ernie McCulloch, Peter Duncan and Lucille Wheeler made the tracks.

1970s and early 1980s: Slow period at Mont Tremblant for alpine ski racing

1987: The CSMT is reborn in its current autonomous from of the ski school, thanks to the initiative of Eddy Butler, Claude Girard and Neal Vinet.

Mont Tremblant Ski Club: A Solid Tradition in Developing Exceptional Athletes

The end of the 80s made it possible to discover new talents (LF Gagnon, I Charest, AF Gagnon, A Boulva, B McKinlay, K Guay, S Butler and many others) who distinguished themselves at the Junior World Championship, World Championship University and several at the Canadian Juvenile and Junior Championship. Several other proud representatives of the CSMT stood out on the National team, the Quebec team, the regional teams and the American university teams, the most well-known of all, Erik Guay, World Champion, twice Crystal Globe winner and the greatest Canadian medalist of all time on the World Cup.

More recently, our 2022 Olympians Valérie Grenier, Brittany Phelan, Hannah Schmidt, Jared Schmidt, Alexie Guimont (Bronze medalist in GS Para) and Tristan Rodgers (Silver medalist in Downhill Para) distinguished themselves at the Beijing Olympic Games and remain proud representatives of CSMT.

Mont-Tremblant Ski Club: Renowned for holding major events:

In addition to regional races, the Mont Tremblant Ski Club has hosted provincial races (Super Series, Sealtest Cup), Nor-Am, Canadian Championships and Can-Am over the years. In addition to the Kandahar Cup, the Taschereau Cup is part of our traditions. Oldest alpine ski race in North America, in its original format the race was a downhill and a major international race. In 1992 the format changed and the Cup has since been awarded to the best youth athletes in Eastern Canada. In 2022 this cup will be awarded to the best athletes (women and men) of the U16 Nationals…. To whom will go the honor of seeing his name engraved alongside those of Valérie Grenier, Brittany Phelan or Peter Duncan?
